A restless night for Fine & Country Rugby

Sleeping bags and cardboard structures can only mean one thing: the return of the Hope4 Rugby Sleep Out on Friday 20th April. Members of Fine & Country Rugby slept rough in Newbold Road car park to raise awareness of homelessness in their area for the second year running.

Sam Funnell and Claire Heritage built cardboard houses with the help of Claire’s children before settling down to a sleepless and uncomfortable night.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and thank you to everyone who helped us raise £248.50 for Hope4 Rugby.

Claire Heritage from Fine & Country Rugby said: “Compared to previous years, we were fortunate with the weather. It was refreshing to do the event when it wasn’t snowing for a change. However, the main objective of the event was to raise awareness for this wonderful charity because people are homeless all year long, not just in winter. Even with the warmer weather, one night sleeping rough makes you realise how difficult it must be to have nowhere to call home.

“As a company, we are very involved with homeless charities in the UK and overseas through The Fine & Country Foundation. Sleep Outs are the hardest-hitting awareness events, so we love taking part and always look forward to next year. Thank you to everyone who helped us raise £248.50 for Hope4 Rugby and to David Gilkes & Sons Ltd for donating the much-needed cardboard.

Hope4 Rugby are in the process of updating their IT systems to make them modern, efficient and compliant with new GDPR regulations.
