The return of Carols by Candlelight 2022

The return of Carols by Candlelight 2022

On Sunday 4th of December, The Fine & Country Foundation will be hosting the annual Carols by Candlelight event in collaboration with the iconic King’s College Cambridge. With an unmissable carol concert full of music and readings in beautiful surroundings, the festive spirit will be bigger and brighter than ever this year.

The spectacular event was a huge success last year, raising over £10,500, which was donated to homeless charities, offering vital services to homeless people across the Cambridgeshire region.  The money raised at the carol concert will be divided between Emmaus Cambridge, Jimmy's Cambridge, Wintercomfort and Cambridge Cyrenians, the four devoted charities which The Fine & Country Foundation are supporting. The event was attended by over 500 people, ranging from employees and clientele at Fine & Country, to the locals in Cambridge, as well as family and friends of those studying at the prestigious university.

“Through the support of the Fine & Country network and the public, The Foundation has been able to have a positive impact on many people’s lives around the globe. The annual carol concert has been a massive contributor towards the money The Foundation has raised over the years and has helped support many charities and non-profit organisations in the work they are doing in their communities.” says Jon Cooke, Trustee of the Fine & Country Foundation. “We invite the industry and the public to join in on our event, enjoy an amazing night of singing and have the opportunity to give back during this festive season.”

As the prices for goods and services increase around us and the economic climate becomes ever more challenging, those facing homelessness in our community, are at increasing risk of not finding a suitable place to live and the basic living needs. The Fine & Country Foundation has helped make an impact across the UK and around the world, and for these reasons, this year’s fundraising is more important than ever.

We are excited to announce that the tickets are available to book now. Join us with your loved ones this festive season for a magical and unforgettable event.

Emmaus Cambridge

Based in the heart of Cambridge, Emmaus provides support and accommodation for homeless and socially excluded individuals, known as companions. They provide their companions with safe and secure accommodation and opportunities in the social enterprise. Emmaus Cambridge is in the process of refurbishing 10 new bedrooms in the #10 Fresh Starts project to help a total of 44 people.

Jimmy's Cambridge

Founded in 1995 as Cambridge’s first year-round emergency night shelter, Jimmy’s has grown and developed over the years to make a substantial difference to the homeless community. In 2012, Jimmy’s launched their newly refurbished premises with daytime activities and skills training. Jimmy’s has refined their strategy to focus on short and long-term support for their service users.

Wintercomfort

This day centre is open seven days a week to provide vital welfare services and opportunities for learning and training. A combination of group and individual-tailored support allows the staff at Wintercomfort to address and resolve the root causes of their clients’ issues.

Cambridge Cyrenians

Cambridge Cyrenians provides a range of accommodation, support and specialist services for homeless men and women. We believe in homes, not hostels – where residents are encouraged to take responsibility for their own lives, with support from our professional team of staff and volunteers.
