Fine & Country Foundation Coffee Morning a great success!

Everyone loves cake, right?  So what better way to raise money for the Fine & Country Foundation than by getting together and enjoying some? On 16 May, Fine & Country offices around the country held Foundation Coffee Mornings and gave into their cravings for delicious treats all for a good cause.

Eleven offices took part in Banbury, Cambridge, Chepstow, Dorchester, Park Lane, London, Leicester, St Neots, Wareham, Weymouth, Windermere and Woodbridge.

These offices opened their doors and invited people in for coffee and a sweet treat with the aim of raising both money and awareness for the Fine & Country Foundation’s fight against homelessness both in the UK and abroad. The offices were able to raise over £300 and enjoyed meeting and greeting local residents who supported their efforts.

“This is a great cause, it’s a fun way to help people less fortunate than ourselves,” said Lee Jones of Fine & Country St Neots and avid supporter of the Foundation.

Liz Hyde from the Fine & Country Studio in Cambridge said “The Foundation coffee morning always brings the whole office together, whether its baking or buying, we all contribute in some way. The sun was shining, and we had a lot of support from the local business’ all helping us eat the wide selection of cakes, from unicorn sponge cake, to honey and almond cake, Nutella and fresh cream to courgette and pine nut (great with cheese!). Also, a first for the coffee morning is the introduction of our very own Foundation coffee.”

"It was pretty quiet at first so we decided to take it mobile and visit the local businesses which had a great response. It certainly cheered their day as they were stuck inside on such a beautiful sunny day. They got to enjoy some homemade cake and we got to raise a few more pennies for The Foundation whilst getting to know our neighbours," said Bessie Hallam from Fine & Country Lancaster.

The Foundation has organised and taken part in a range of events and activities including marathons, carol concerts, the Fine & Country Gold Cup and 10k runs. The Coffee Morning is another event to support homeless charities and give back to local communities.
