SELLERSINSIGHT Situated on a quiet cul de sac on the favoured south side of Ware is Number 2 Windmill Field, a large and well-appointed family home that has been both extended and modernised by the current owners. "It was the fact that the house is quite literally just a stone's throw from Presdales School that proved to be one of the biggest selling points when we came across this property fourteen years ago," says the owner, "but the area in general is really lovely and the house sits in a quiet yet very convenient location, so for us it ticked all the boxes."
"The house was nice when we came here and perfectly liveable but over time we've made some quite significant changes to really enhance it further and suit our needs as a family. We've extended up and out, converted the garage, altered the layout to create a much better feeling of space, the kitchen was enlarged and rebuilt, windows were replaced you name it, we did it and it's now a really fabulous family home with really good proportions, a comfortable flow and a tremendous feeling of both light and space throughout. We've been extremely happy here."
"The garden, which is South facing, is another part of the property that has been greatly enhanced during our time here," continues the owner. "It was nicely established when we moved in but over time we've added more plants, enlarged the patio to create a really nice entertaining space and just recently we added a brand new shed. We also have a green in the middle of the cul de sac, which our children used to play on when they were young, and there's a gate at the end of the garden that leads out onto a path that takes you to the rugby fields, so really we're spoilt for choice when it comes to green spaces."
"If I had to pick a favourite it would probably be the living room," says the owner. "It's a lovely big space with a very attractive fireplace as the main focal point, and it has patio doors that not only create a really nice connection with the garden but also bring in a tremendous amount of light."
"The location is absolutely fantastic. The house is situated on the sought after South side of Ware and it's very leafy and peaceful and yet everything is within easy reach. There's an excellent selection of schools, many of which are within walking distance, the town centre is within striking distance and we can stroll up to the station, hop on a train and be in London in under an hour."
What they'll miss most / why they are leaving: "We've had fourteen very happy years in this house but although we'll be sad to leave, we've decided that we fancy a bit of a change," says the owner. "In terms of what I'll miss, I think most of all it will be the location because for us as a family it's been absolutely ideal."
