Welcome to 6 Albert Place, a Grade II listed Cheltenham Regency town house located within walking distance of the town centre and Pittville Park. With accommodation arranged over four floors, the property incorporates the period features of yesteryear with today`s modern and contemporary requirements for the modern lifestyle
From the moment you arrive, the building is tall and imposing and gives a feeling of stature and grandeur this house required when built in the early 1800`s. The steps leading to the big heavy front door, the large sash windows, the ironmongery, all complete the aesthetics of the property.
Once inside the hallway leads to the first of two reception rooms on this level with staircases both rising and falling to the different levels. The first reception room is found to the very front of the building and is currently used as a study. The large sash window, complete with shutters floods the room with light, whilst the wooden floors, high ceilings, cornicing and deep skirting boards only add to the feel of the room.
The second reception room is the formal drawing room. There are two main focal points to this room, the first is the large central fireplace which sits within an ornate fire surround. The second is the floor to ceiling bi folding doors found to the rear of the room which not only fill the room with light, they lead onto the raised balcony which overlooks not on the garden found behind the house but the lower terrace below.
The lower level of the property is split into three rooms. The first, a cloakroom, modern in d?cor and sitting hidden under the stairwell. The second room is either an additional reception room, or as is being currently used, a bedroom. The room offers fitted wardrobes and has the benefit of its own front door, giving access to the lower external staircase found to the front of the building.
The final room is thecontemporary kitchen/dining room. The kitchen, which has been designed around a circular work station has an array of integral appliances to include a steamer, griddle, hot plate, two gas rings, a two-drawer dishwasher, oven, combination microwave, coffee machine and two warming ovens. There is also space for a freestanding American fridge/freezer. At the rear of the room, French doors lead onto a lower terrace and steps lead up to the formal garden.
Moving upwards on the first floor are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom. At the front of the house is the largest of the two bedrooms. Filled with light from the three sash windows, this room really is very impressive due in part to the windows but also because of the height of the room. Whereas the front room is very in keeping with the period of the house, the final two rooms are very different, both being very modern in their style, particularly the family bathroom. Being fully tiled, glass block walls create divides within the room, giving purpose to the layout. There is a large freestanding bath, a floating sink and a curved walk in shower area. A cupboard creates storage yet cleverly the shelving unit within is hinged and behind this, hides the wall mounted boiler.
On the upper and final level is the master bedroom. Taking the entire floor, the bedroom is a large room complete with fitted wardrobes and rear wall of glass with a sliding door that leads onto a private roof terrace. Walking onto the roof terrace, coupled with the height of the building gives a wonderful overview across Cheltenham as well as a wonderful location to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine
The final element to the house is the garden. Arranged over two levels, plus the balcony from the drawing room there are plenty of spaces to sit, relax and unwind. There is an array of mature trees, formal lawns and a wonderful Wisteria that creeps all the way up the side of the building. To the side of the garden, double gates lead to a parking area that allows for off road tandem parking for two cars, hidden behind a roller door.
