Fine & Country Foundation donates £10,000 to Turkey-Syria earthquake appeal

As the devastating situation unfolds on the site of the Turkey-Syria earthquake, rescue workers continue to dig through the rumble and ruins to free survivors who have been trapped for days. The death toll has reached over 50,000, with multitudes of people injured, homeless and in the need of urgent help.

In an effort to assist those who has been impacted by the disaster, the Fine & Country Foundation will be donating £10,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Turkey-Syria earthquake appeal, as well as setting up a fundraising page for agents within the network to add to donation through their fundraising efforts. The goal would be for the network to be able to match the £10,000 and donate a total of £20,000 to the cause.

Jon Cooke, Trustee of the Fine & Country Foundation, says: “At its core, the Foundation is about assisting those afflicted by poverty and homelessness, and right now thousands of people in Turkey and Syria have been displaced from their homes. While it will not provide a permanent solution, the £10,000 donated by the Foundation, as well as the additional money raised by the network, will help provide essentials such as food, shelter, and blankets to those who have lost everything.”
