What could be better than enjoying a freshly baked scone, a cup of tea and good company? Doing it all while supporting charities making a real difference.
On 22nd July, communities across the South West are invited to take part in the very first Big Cream Tea, a brand-new fundraising initiative bringing people together in support of The Fine & Country Foundation.
Organised by Edward Taylor, Director of Fine & Country Marlborough and Devizes and Regional Ambassador for The Fine & Country Foundation, the event will see Fine & Country offices across the region hosting cream teas and popping up in local high streets with scones, jam and cream. The aim is simple: raise vital funds, strengthen community connections and support charities working to tackle homelessness and poverty.
A simple idea with a big impact
The Big Cream Tea is about celebrating the power of local communities coming together. Whether you’re stopping by for a traditional cream tea, catching up with friends over a cuppa or simply making a donation, every contribution will help support The Fine & Country Foundation’s mission.
For anyone unable to attend in person, donations can also be made via the dedicated JustGiving page, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get involved.
Supporting charities where it’s needed most
Money raised through the Big Cream Tea will contribute to The Fine & Country Foundation’s grant programme, which provides funding through its Spring and Autumn grant rounds.
Charities working on the front line to combat homelessness and poverty can receive grants of up to £3,000, helping them deliver essential services to vulnerable individuals and families. Every pound raised extends The Foundation’s reach, allowing more organisations to benefit from this valuable support.
Since launching in 2014, The Fine & Country Foundation has raised and donated more than £1 million to charitable organisations across the UK and internationally. This remarkable milestone reflects the ongoing generosity and commitment of the Fine & Country network and everyone who has supported its fundraising efforts over the years.
Bringing communities together
Edward Taylor said: “The Big Cream Tea is a fantastic opportunity to bring our offices and communities together over something everyone loves, while raising awareness and much-needed funds for The Fine & Country Foundation. We’re incredibly excited to see so many offices across the South West getting involved in this first event, and we hope local people will join us for a cuppa, a scone and a chance to support charities making a real difference in the fight against homelessness and poverty.”
Emile Despois, Trustee of The Fine & Country Foundation, added: “The Foundation exists to support charities that are working tirelessly to tackle homelessness and poverty, and community fundraising initiatives like the Big Cream Tea play a hugely important role in helping us do that. Every donation, no matter how large or small, contributes towards grants that provide meaningful support to organisations delivering life-changing services. It’s wonderful to see the South West leading the way with this fantastic new initiative, and we hope it inspires many more events in the future.”
