Looking for a new challenge? Join the 2018 Nepal expedition

From 23rd May until 2nd June Fine & Country and Campbells Foundation in Nepal will be trekking from Kathmandu to Thangpalkot1, spending time in the village to help with construction. There are 15 places available for anyone who wants to hike and help, which includes an approximate three day trek, time in the village and some sightseeing in Kathmandu. Full details on the trek are coming soon.

What is our Nepal project?
The Thangpalkot1 village, along with vast areas of Nepal were hit by devastating earthquakes in 2015 which flattened homes and separated families. For the full story, click here. The donations from the Everest Base Camp expedition has enabled 50 houses in the village to be funded, including 30 houses that are already built. We are looking to fund an additional 36 houses to restore the village. Read the story from the incredible journey here.

In October, members of Fine & Country trekked to Everest Base Camp with Paul Campbell from Campbells Foundation in Nepal and their friends. The team raised more than £30,000 for the village to provide another 20 houses. While at the village, the first truck load of supplies arrived for five more houses.

In December, Paul Campbell returned to Thangpalkot1 and has updated us on progress in the village. House No. 30 for Lila Tamang and his family is complete and awaiting a few final homely touches. This house was funded by Malcolm and Sharon Lindley from Fine & Country. Last month, another truck of materials for a further five houses was delivered. Construction has already begun.

The local school has received a number of donations from dedicated supporters. iPads, laptops and projector screens have been given as gifts to the village from the community in Daventry.

How can you help?
There are plenty of ways to get involved with this valuable cause:

Sponsor a house today for just £1,600 – you can hear their stories, see videos and photos and help rebuild lives for generations.

Host your own event – Fine & Country hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year. We invite you to join one of ours or do your own thing. We will provide all the support you need to make it a success.

Help us fund another house – We are continuing to fund houses, so every penny of your donations makes a real difference to helping us reach another £1,600. To donate, click here.

Give a gift – Tubes of Propolis Crème from Forever are always in need to treat skin complaints. Alternatively, the children at the school use iPads, tablets and laptops for learning.

Would you like to visit Thangpalkot1? Take a look at what Clint Nykamp from Fine & Country thought of his experience here.

A few months after our visit in October and a lot has changed, from new technology to more completed houses. We are looking forward the next chapter.
