Strutting their stuff at the Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show

Strutting their stuff at the Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show

Fine & Country Droitwich Spa hosted a fantastic Ladies Lunch & Fashion Show featuring an array of designer clothing, handmade items and a live catwalk show, on Saturday 23rd September.

Grafton Manor Hotel is a beautiful 16th century Elizabethan manor house in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. The venue has stunning greenery and sculpted gardens to welcome the ladies in. The room was perfectly suited to host both a lunch for the guests and the catwalk show.

Three ladies modelled the designer clothing which was donated by friends and clients of Fine & Country. The women were treated to an appearance from the owner and product designer of Gilly’s Fascinators whose handmade hats and fascinators were modelled with the elegant dresses.

The event was organised by Vanessa Bradford from Fine & Country Droitwich Spa. Vanessa said, “It was a fantastic day and we were so pleased with both the turnout and the generosity of the ladies. We sold many of the dresses that were either on display or modelled by our three beautiful volunteers.”

Grafton Manor Hotel provided the ladies with a delicious two course lunch and prosecco. Amongst the options available was a butternut squash curry and soy and sesame salmon. For desert, the ladies had the choice of a lemon tart, prosecco jelly or chocolate roulade.

Throughout the day raffle tickets were sold which raised approximately £400. Gilly’s Fascinators kindly donated a handmade fascinator for the raffle to accompany other prizes including a luxury afternoon tea. Before leaving, the ladies were given a goody bag from Arbonne who make botanical-based beauty products, including primers and hand-cream.

The event raised an incredible £1,150 for homelessness. Fine & Country Droitwich Spa will be supporting Maggs Day Centre, a local charity in Worcester. Maggs Day Centre provide support in a number of different aspects, including providing clean clothing, medical assessments, a safe place to spend the day and hot food. As winter approaches, Day Centres such as this will receive more and more homeless people who require their services. The donations generated by the Fine & Country Foundation will go towards everyday running costs, from heating bills to buying cleaning supplies.

Mel Kirk, Manager of Maggs Day Centre said, "That is phenomenal! We so so pleased and grateful that The Fine & Country Foundation is able to raise awareness of day centres such as ours, and is helping with our day-to-day running costs. Thank you so much Fine & Country Droitwich Spa for all your hard work."

Following the success of the event, Vanessa is hoping to host another lunch and fashion show in Spring 2018. Fine & Country Droitwich Spa will be collecting items for the event and would be grateful to anyone who would like to donate an item of clothing or any accessories. Any businesses are welcome to apply to join the event to showcase their products in the fashion show and sale.
