Ladies that Shoot

Ladies that Shoot

Fine & Country Solihull will be donning on their best tweed for the Ladies Clay Shoot Day on Friday 8th September.

More experienced shooters can enjoy a 75-bird day while beginners can spend one and a half hours with our experts in small groups of two or three. The event begins at 9.00am and finishes at 12.30pm. A delightful meal will be served following the shoot at The Bell in Tanworth in Arden.

The Three Lakes Gun Club will be host to this special event. With their wealth of experience and beautiful surrounding land, the Three Lakes Gun Club is a well-known and liked range. Two professional shooters, Owen Hastings and Sara Chambers will assist the ladies on the day.

Owen is currently a craftsman and gunmaker for James Purdy & Sons. As a coach and gun-fitter at The West London Shooting School, Owen will fit the ladies with the perfect guns. He is also a former Olympic and Universal Trap team member for Great Britain.

Sara Chambers is the 2009 World Champion of the International Clay Target Shooting Federation (ICTSF) and World Champion of English Sporting 2015. Sara has been capped nine times for England and is fully prepared for anything that comes her way.

This isn’t just a lovely and exciting day out for women. The day aims to raise £400 through ticket sales and donations on the day for The Fine & Country Foundation help reduce homelessness. The donations from the day will be used to support Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid. Terrie Williams, Senior Associate from Fine & Country Solihull explained that she wanted the day to be focused on women helping women.

Sally Insley, spokesperson for Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid said, “We are absolutely delighted that Fine & Country Solihull have decided to support us. The proceeds from the fundraiser will help us to kick-start our project geared towards older women in the Solihull area as they reintegrate back into the community after suffering long-term abuse and isolation.”
