Successes so far: 2017

2017 has been an incredible year so far, with events of every shape and size raising money to fight against the root causes of homelessness.

We are taking a look back at the charities we have supported and our most iconic events from 2017…

We are on our way to raising our first £1,000,000 by December 2018. So far we have raised over £150,000.

Fine & Country members from across the country have been trekking, cycling, running and baking to raise money for homelessness.

Here is our collection of top events so far this year:

The Fine & Country Gold Cup - £5,000 for our grant pot

Fine & Country Bury St Edmunds' 200 mile sponsored cycle to York - £1,837 for our grant pot

Head Office 10k run - £1,384 for Housing for Women

Matthew Pryke, Trustee of The Fine & Country Foundation conquered the Gobi March - £3,715 for our grant pot

Five brave volunteers took the leap of faith in our charity skydive - raising £2,240 and counting for our grant pot

We are thrilled to see so much enthusiasm from both Fine & Country members and the public to help us make a real impact in reducing the levels of homelessness on local, national and international levels. We pride ourselves on showing you where your donations go.

Any events or fundraisers which are not allocated to a homeless charity are put into our grant fund. There will be two periods a year when homeless charities can apply for grants; October and March. In October homeless charities can apply for small or medium-sized grants. In November they will be assessed by The Fine & Country Foundation trustees and distributed in December. The spring period is applications open in March, assessed in April and distributed in May. Full details of the applications will be provided soon.

So far in 2017 The Fine & Country Foundation has supported a number of local, national and international projects.

Where your money has gone so far:

We are particularly proud of our housing project in Nepal, in association with Campbell’s Foundation in Nepal. So far 20 houses have been built and more are on their way. This ongoing project aims to restore and rebuild the village of Thangpalkot1 which was destroyed by the earthquakes in 2015. It is only £1,600 to build a house for a family. Our Everest Base Camp expedition in October will contribute to this project.

We are continuing to fund the Happy Homes Teenage Girls School in Bangladesh which provides 30 girls a safe and educated upbringing. We are looking forward to our next update from ActionAid.

In addition to this, we are establishing our national partnership with End Youth Homelessness. This campaign is formed of nine homeless charities across the country which focuses on 16-25 year olds. With this partnership we can have the local knowledge from the regional charity, and have a national impact. Our Sleep Outs in November are in aid of this campaign.

Fine & Country members have been supporting their local homeless charities. Our Brighton & Hove office donated the proceeds of the coffee morning to The Clock Tower Sanctuary to fund their healthy eating programme.

Our Leamington Spa and Solihill offices teamed up to organise the Warwickshire Golf Day, raising £300 for Helping Hands Community Project who are opening a new café which will be run by volunteers are train people in the service industry.

We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us and followed our journey so far and are looking forward to making a difference in the rest of 2017. If you have any questions about our work or are a charity or community project looking for funding please contact foundation@fineandcountry.com or call +44(0)20 3368 8221.
